Jenner Edelman

Jenner Edelman serves as the Resident Country Director for the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) in Belize, overseeing MCC’s $125 million Belize Compact. In this role, she provides strategic oversight and guidance for the Compact's implementation, working closely with the Government of Belize, MCA-Belize, and key stakeholders to advance investments that strengthen the country's education and energy sectors.

Mrs. Edelman brings extensive experience in international development, program management, and institutional strengthening, with a career spanning more than two decades across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean. Prior to her assignment in Belize, she served as MCC's Resident Country Director in Indonesia and Sri Lanka and previously led MCC-funded education and energy initiatives in Georgia, Malawi, and Morocco. She has also held Washington-based leadership roles overseeing projects in education, energy, transportation, and other development sectors.

Before joining MCC, Ms. Edelman worked with international organizations including UNICEF, the American Bar Association, and the non-governmental organization Deepalaya in India. She began her international development career as a Peace Corps Education Volunteer in Uzbekistan, reflecting a longstanding commitment to education, community development, and public service.

Ms. Edelman holds a Master of Public Administration from Princeton University's School of Public and International Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Harvard University. She also received an honorary doctorate from Ilia State University in Georgia. A Fulbright grantee and National Security Education Program Boren Fellow, she speaks German, French, and Indonesian. Through her leadership and global development experience, she continues to support transformative investments that promote sustainable economic growth and opportunity in Belize.
